Elizabeth DeFazio RN, LMFT, PMH-C

The journey to parenthood is one of the most intense and meaningful human experiences there is. However, it can also be arduous, disappointing and even heartbreaking. I am here to honor that struggle and support my clients as they work through the obstacles between them and the family life they deserve.

I have worked with pregnant and postpartum women and families for more than 20 years, first as an OB nurse and then as a therapist.   I combine my years of nursing experience with specialized training in counseling and perinatal mental health to provide the support clients need while navigating the intense ups and downs of becoming a family.

Education and training:

  • Registered Nurse: Received my Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing in 1998

  • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist: Received my Master’s Degree in Counseling in 2013

  • Certified in Perinatal Mental Health through Postpartum Support International

  • Completed Training for Adoption Competency through Center for Adoption Support and Education

  • Trained in EMDR through The Touchstone Institute

    Specialties include:

    high-risk pregnancies

    pregnancy loss
